According to Webster’s 1828 Dictionary, a Smith is “literally, the striker, the beater; hence, one who forges with the hammer; one who works in metals; as an iron-smith; gold-smith; silver-smith.”
Writers are wordsmiths. We design and forge words to give reader takeaways—providing beats of prose to strike a point. Words of truth provide fortification and protection. And words cook up new ideas and thoughts to digest and nourish. I try to craft words that carry God’s light to a world engulfed in darkness, words that break open new truths and accomplish Heavenly purposes.
You too are a Smith. You've been forged by God and refined like gold. You've been gifted with the power of speech or writing to ignite a burning fire within those you meet to leave a legacy of God’s love.
Heavenly Father help me to be the best at what You have called me to do. Forge in me Your truth, so I may forge in others the truth of Your grace, mercy, and love.
