What I Learned From The Bible About Writing Part 5: Metaphors

"Who is she that looketh forth as the morning,
fair as the moon, clear as the sun,
and terrible as an army with banners?"
 - Song of Solomon 6:10

"And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind."
- Isaiah 7:2

Dictionary.com has a great description of Metaphor:
a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it  is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance, as in “A mighty fortress is our God.”
